S H U J I
Persan presents its S H U J I collection
In Shuji, the rhythm of calligraphy meets the deep connection between texture and aesthetics. Persan’s new collection Shuji stands out with its modern, contemporary, bold yet minimalist character. Named after the Japanese art of calligraphy, the Shuji Collection blends this ancient art form with a timeless and contemporary aesthetic sensibility. Inspired by the Japanese aesthetic philosophy that embraces simplicity, balance, naturalness, and the expression of emptiness, the Shuji Collection follows a narrative tracing form, rhythm, and meaning. Calligraphic lines flow freely across fabric surfaces; each pattern leaves a dynamic and determined impression, much like a brushstroke. Luxurious textures, high-pile surfaces, and fluid patterns further strengthen this visual language. The upholstery fabric named Shodo is one of the standout designs of the collection. Created by illustrator Zeynep Kış, one of the founders of Big Baboli Print House, this pattern offers a contemporary interpretation of Japanese calligraphy. Abstract forms inspired by brush movements bring a strong and unique energy to the fabric surface. The Shuji Collection is completed with a rug group consisting of two exclusive designs. Elegantly and modernly drawn, the rugs provide a strong sense of stylistic unity. Especially the rug with the same name and calligraphic, fluid form as the fabric Shuji offers a unique option for creating a cohesive and holistic decorative language that extends from curtains and furniture to the floor. The color palette of the collection includes: the classic contrast of black and white, sophisticated reflections of mineral blue, natural earth tones, and deep browns… Drawing its strength from simplicity, the Shuji Collection is designed for those seeking a serene yet determined atmosphere, passionately devoted to details, and aiming to transform living spaces into storytelling environments. You are invited to explore it at Persan stores…
